Christmas Parade Theme: Twelve Days of Christmas

The annual Christmas Parade, which is organized by the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd beginning at 6 p.m.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Twelve Days of Christmas”. Line up for the parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Middle School Circle.  To ensure the safety of the spectators as well as the participants several rules will be enforced for this year’s parade.  Also, each parade entry must register with the Chamber of Commerce by November 27th including a $10 entry fee.

The entry fees paid will be donated to Toys for Berrien Kids, which is a local organization that provides Christmas gifts for local children” said Crissy Staley, executive director, Berrien County Chamber of Commerce.

Floats which plan to use the Twelve Days of Christmas theme are asked to select one day of the twelve for the float. Days which are needed are Partridge in a Pear Tree, 2 Turtle Doves, 3 French Hens, 6 Geese a Laying, 7 Swans a Swimming, 10 Lords a Leaping, 11 Pipers Piping &12 Drummers Drumming. To reserve your day, please contact Janet Studstill, Event Coordinator at 229-686-5123.  Those who prepare floats which represent the 12 Days will be assigned a reserved space or area for the lineup.

Parade Rules

Anyone driving a vehicle in the parade, including ATV’s/motorcycle/go-cart must be a licensed driver.

All ATV’s/Motorcycles/go-carts must be a part of an organized group/club/business.

Anyone driving and/or riding on an ATV/motorcycle/go-cart must wear a helmet.

Antique cars and oversized “monster” trucks will be permitted in the parade with prior approval provided they are decorated with at least a holiday wreath or bow.

Parade officials will not tolerate any horseplay like laying drag, wheelies, donuts, etc.  Violators will be removed from the parade and cited by the police department.

Please make every effort to throw candy into the crowd and away from your float/vehicle.  We are trying to eliminate children from running out into the parade route to retrieve candy.

No one is to have Santa on their float except for the official pre-authorized group that has reserved to carry Santa on their float.
