It Pays to Support Shop Small

Shop Small is a nationwide movement to celebrate small businesses every day and to help communities thrive.  Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is the cornerstone of American Express Shop Small efforts. Shop Small Saturday is November 25th which is the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

“While Small Business Saturday is highlighted as a special day when we can show our support for small business owners and our community, the Berrien Chamber encourages local shopping year-round through its Buy Berrien campaign,” said Faye Jernigan, Chairman of the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.  “As the owner of a small family owned business, we pride ourselves on offering superb customer service and personal attention you won’t find in a big box environment.  I encourage you to give the local retailers a look before you shop out of town.”

Many Berrien County businesses will be open on Saturday, November 25th.  Make plans to visit them during Shop Small Saturday to show your support for Berrien County’s multitude of locally owned businesses.

The Berrien County Chamber of Commerce and Nashville Main Street are partnering to offer an incentive for Shop Small Saturday shoppers in Berrien County.  Keep your receipts from the purchases made on Saturday, November 25th and bring them to Nashville City Hall or the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce by noon on Wednesday, November 29th to be entered into a drawing for $100 in Berrien Bucks.  Five lucky Shop Small Saturday Shoppers will be chosen.  The receipt can be from any Berrien County business and must be dated November 25, 2017.

Small business is the backbone of local communities.  It is important to support local businesses during the holiday shopping season and throughout the year.  Shop Small in Berrien County on November 25th.
