Berrien County boasts hundreds of acres of unblemished woods for hunting and camping enthusiast. For the hunter in the family, there are several hunting clubs within the county as well as preserves that offer private scheduled hunts. If fishing is more your speed, the Alapaha River as well as Paradise Public Fishing Area provide the area with freshwater fishing, as do the many private ponds and lakes in the county.
For those who are less outdoorsy, Berrien County offers several shopping and dining options. We have a variety of retail stores and many locally owned restaurants as well as a few larger, corporate options. Kick back and relax at our local Horse Creek Winery or stay the night at the beautiful, Our Place Hotel to enjoy the feel of small town living.
For the historians, you may be interested in visiting the Berrien County Historical Foundation for a tour of the Historic Berrien County Courthouse built in 1898 or the Berrien County Jail built in 1903.
The Berrien County Recreation Department services over 1,500 area youth each year offering a variety of sports including baseball, softball, basketball, football, cheerleading, tennis and soccer.
